Most task tools treat status as a checkbox: something is Open, then someone clicks it to Done, and that's the whole story. In practice that's rarely the whole story. Tasks get quietly reassigned. Status flips backward. Something sits Blocked for two weeks and nobody agrees on why.
Team Task Tracker starts from a different assumption: the status itself isn't the interesting part — the change is. So every time a task moves, gets handed off, or a sub-task gets checked off, that change is written down with who did it, when, and — for status changes and reassignments — why. Not as an audit feature bolted on afterward. It's the one rule the whole app is built around.
Teams where more than one person touches the same work — operations, install and field service crews, small agencies, internal IT, anyone coordinating tasks across people who don't sit in the same room all day. If "who's handling this now?" is a question that comes up more than once a week, that's the gap this fills.
Team Task Tracker is early. Teams today belong to one team at a time; multi-team membership, richer reporting, and admin tooling for larger orgs are on the roadmap as this grows from an internal tool into a product other teams can run on.
